SEM 520 is a 20-ton single-drum vibratory roller, designed and manufactured under Caterpillar's technology system. It combines advanced vibration performance with a durable powertrain, making it a reliable choice for medium to large-scale compaction projects such as highways, airport runways, industrial yards, and embankments .
The core of its performance lies in the exclusive "Vibe Pod" (eccentric vibration pod) design licensed from Caterpillar. This system uses steel shots moving inside a sealed eccentric block to generate amplitude, which ensures a smooth start/stop, reduces impact shock on the motor, and extends system life by up to 50% . It features a 50mm thick drum, which is notably thicker than the standard 40mm found on many competitors, providing superior rigidity and 10%-15% better compaction performance .
